The Gearing…
I am grinding down the US Destroyer line…and man…they are some fun, and
when I get to the Gearing, I am definitely going for the 2.3 second rate of
fire on the main cannons with a stealth build. I’ll be able to gun-boat
when I need to, torpedo when I need to, and DD hunt when I need to, and the
5.9 km detection range will allow me to get close to Karbarovsks before I
engage them, should I need to hunt them down.
I currently use the US destroyers as gun-boats and destroyer hunters, and
by closing to 5.9 km…the gun arcs on US destroyers flatten out at that
range, and my superior rate of fire should amount to something in that
engagement. (I think.)
(Strategy subject to change as while I am already an above average player,
my highest ships are Tier VI (Farragut and Mutsuki) and that means I still
have a lot of playing, and subsequent learning to do before I get my hands
on a Gearing.)
