Seriously, what is the counterplay against subs? Low detect range made even lower by diving. Hard to spot the damn things at a distance while they’re sending deadly torpedoes. Destroyers can depth charge but that involves overextending to where the enemy sub is at while getting shot by the enemy team.
Only thing I can think of is that if a flank collapses any sub is going to be left behind and picked off. Only benefit I can see is that people begin liking aircraft carriers again because everyone hates on subs while the aircraft carriers exclusively go for subs at the beginning of every match. This is just mind boggingly.
