Also, seeing a gunbote DD without SI is painful but ggwp to this madlad
SI’s priority is really only that high with the russian gunboats that has a heal, which means extra survivability. For ships like sherman and haru, SI basically means one more smoke, which isn’t really that much of a good utility when you are running fearless brawler (you’d want to stay spoted) and/or the team has little spotting. It’s not like you are a giant neptune that’s effectively dead when spotted out of smoke.
@Forge 16 Hanada Maintenance Drone 2 smoke only gives you so little utility, and with Sherman’s shit speed plus large profile, you can’t open water well either.
I was an Gunnery Officer in a ship with the same kind of gun (5in/54 Mk42). If it had been possible to shoot at the rate of 0.5 rounds per second, not only would the loading gear have exploded due to metal fatigue, but the barrel would’ve melted before the 20th round.

But you have to admit, an endless shower of shells that resembles a fiery rainbow of death would be epic no matter how you look at it.

Only thing it’s good for is farming BB.
