Developed from the Fletcher class, Gearing was the largest destroyer in the U.S. Navy during World War II. The ship was superior in firepower to all foreign counterparts, owing to new dual-purpose twin mounts with a very high rate of fire. Numerous automatic AA guns ensured a respective level of efficiency for her AA defenses.

@tecums3h you must be talking about WOWS Legends because in NA Gearing is T10 tech tree.

@Aqila Sanimah WoWS Legends is the console version of the game. It only has 7 tiers (plus one “super” tier). It looks like Fletcher is the tech tree T7 (top tier) in Legends, with Gearing being some kind of premium.
Idk man, either the enemy team is a weekend player playing daddy’s acct or this guy just had stars aligned for him.

I have the Gearing, its a good boat. However I often prefer the Fletcher. The Gearing is larger, so its concealment isn’t as good. Also, WoWS got the beam dimensions wrong, so that SAP and AP don’t over pen. But if you can live with that or get Captain’s skills and flags to compensate, its a mighty likeable ship.
They actually fixed the Gearing model (and updated Fletcher and a bunch of other US DD’s) a couple of patches ago. It was too wide, too short, and sat too high in the water but it should be the correct size now.
But yeah, Fletcher is still pretty nice to play. It’s faster, more maneuverable, and for some reason puts out one extra flak puff over Gearing.
