Screening harassment shippe..laying smoke in advance of a joint strike to screen allies and obscure them”fish” a jargon ref to torps or torpedo Feuer lose start – starten oder feuern torpedo
great to see u playing wow lionheart. one thing…. when firing ur torps the white overlay gives u a good indication of where the enemy ship will be when ur torps arrive. so aim for the white overlay as a starting point. game looks great in 4k the UI looks tiny
Hey Lion! Thought I’d just jump in and give you a few tips. It’s a bit of a textwall but I believe that these are some important fundamentals. I’m sure you probably know a few of these anyway, so feel free to ignore them if you already do:
-You can (and probably should) enlarge your minimap using the ‘+’ key (and shrink it with the -). Map awareness as well as reading the battlefield, and predicting enemy movements is a huge part of the game and something that I cannot stress enough.
-Additionally, you can click on the little gear icon in the top right corner of the minimap to adjust other settings. One of the most helpful options is one that shows your detectability by air and sea, and secondary gun range.
-Detectability is also incredibly important, and remaining undetected is a crucial part in choosing your own battles. Remember that if you shoot in an area where other ships will have a direct line of sight to you (like open water), you will remain detected for a period of 20-30 seconds.
– You might want to take a careful look at the ‘Controls’ tab under settings. There are several little functions towards the bottom half of the page that can help make life a ton easier. Some of the ones I strongly recommend are ‘show smoke screen timer’, ‘Alternative Battle interface mode (set to full), which will display the exact health of enemy ships, and most importantly ‘Detailed Ribbons.’
-Detailed Ribbons tell you what type of damage your shell hits do upon impact. Shells can either bounce or shatter (delivering no damage), overpenetrate (going straight through the hull without exploding, resulting in minimum damage), or penetrate (which is the ideal type of hit, where the shell penetrates and explodes inside the hull). With this info, you can adjust your fire accordingly. Note that a ship’s superstructure is thinner and therefore more penetrable.
-In Battleships, it’s normally quite a bad idea to put out only one fire. What if you get set on fire again immediately after? Wait until you’re on fire two, or even three times before putting it out unless you’re on very low health. You can heal 100% of HE and fire damage anyway!
-Aim for the middle of a ship’s hull for maximum damage at medium ranges; and aim at the waterline in close quarters fights. Aiming at the waterline increases your chances of hitting a ship’s citadel, but you risk most of the shells falling short of the target at longer ranges.
-One way to locate any ship’s citadel is to look at a ship’s smokestack or turret placement. Most ships have their citadels right underneath them, just below the waterline.
– Armor Angling is a large concept in WoWs. Essentially, if you point your bow towards the enemy at a slant, your armor becomes twice as thick, and therefore harder to penetrate. It’s a big part of resisting damage. This may not work if you’re up against higher tier ships though, because they may have larger guns capable of punching through your armor anyway.
-It’s important to consider which type of ammo you’re using. While AP can do high damage against armored targets, it does disturbingly little to lightly armored ones such as destroyers. Conversely, HE is effective against lightly armored ships and cruisers, but doesn’t have as much penetration power against armored ships, though even shattered HE shells can still start fires and disable installations such as AA emplacements on the hull. However, take gun caliber into account as well. Larger guns have a better chance of penetration. If you find your AP shells are bouncing, you might want to consider switching to HE.
Hey Lionheartx10, I played World of Warships for a bit and have been thinking of getting back into it. Two tips I can give you are;
1. Unless you think you can Matrix dodge torpedoes it’s best to angle them to either hit your front (usually where your thickest armour is) or be already turning away from the ship you think might torp you before you detect thier torps.
2. The reason why some players turn up pink is because they’ve “friendly fired” too much in previous matches.
I will definitely get this game. This looks awesome
play the Warspite please
ps you are such a noob
More of the Lion
i cant play World of Warships on PC can somone tell me how to open it
More of this content please n thank you, GG.
British Battleships specialise in using HE (High Explosive), the shells have a higher than average chance of setting a fire. I recommend using HE more often and play like a cruiser and set fires and you will get great damage games!
Hi Lionheart I am working on KG5 at the moment brit BB’s are best used in divisions with a german BB
Lion, instead of using the mouse wheel to zoom, just hit shift and you be max zoom instantly.
Neat, I’d heard of World of Tanks but not this one. Looks pretty cool, and it was exciting to watch. Might check it out for myself sometime.
Pink ships are people who have recently team killed
The perfect matching always happens when you’re playing against bots Lionheart! Haha!
I like how there are guns on your guns on the Lion.
World of Warships wouldn’t happen to have the Iowa class Battleships, would it?
