Here’s our First Look at Tier IX Italian battleship Lepanto. Continuing up the line from Tier VIII’s Vittorio Veneto, Lepanto will look familiar. Her armor scheme is very similar, and she’s added more guns. To me, though, it’s the mixture of soft stats that don’t show up until you start digging that really make me dislike what I see. Chiefly, Lepanto’s abysmal main battery range married to her above average detection radius is going to make this ship a nightmare to play.

Ohh it is going to be sweet…
Battleship with SAP ….
*cries in my Lightning*
It has long reload.
Hindenburg and yoshino gonna love that 50 mm deck with 18.1 km range. Good luck hitting any long range HE spammer with that
The deck is 55 mm thick-so unless they take IFHE they can’t do shit. agree with the lack of range though
Citadel is not perfect. Hit 4 cits and deleted this ship with a Soyuz at 3km
Interesting. I’m kind of curious how that sharply-angled turtleback works. My brain tells me that it ought to autobounce a lot of point-blank shots, but I am often incorrect.
@SeaRaptor it could just be russian bias lol
I don’t see any other of your Italian battleship previews on YouTube. Am I missing them, as you refer numerous times to the tier 7 and 8 ships.
The way i see it 380mm guns or larger will just overmatch the 25mm slope and citadel her. Still usefull versus Stalingrad and petro i guess
I like that the italian BB’s are brawlers, could use more brawlers in the game with today’s meta of thunderers and he spamming cruisers
What I find interesting is when people say “18.1 range with 17.1 concealment is gonna be rough.” even though a base Sovetsky Soyuz isn’t that much better (17.6 range with16.7 conceal). People complained about those stats until they learned how to play it. What I’m getting at here is there will ALWAYS be a learning curve to ANY new ship, and it’s when you get a feel for a their strengths and weaknesses that you can truly make a judgement on whether a ship is good or not.
I think 13.5km+ will be the final concealment after the concealment buff from upgrades, skill and flags.
I gotta say, when it comes to warship aesthetics, the Italians have some of the most beautiful lines you’ll ever see.
Another Italian beauty. Looking forward to seeing actual gameplay for this line, though I fully expect to see Roma’s horrendously inconsistent dispersion carried over as well as SAP being the default/must use ammo because of that crap dispersion. Time will tell I suppose.
When I get Home from Work, I’ll have to tell ya about my Roms if I haven’t already…. But I built it as a Bullfighter, I see myself doing the Same for the Rest of the Line….
Nice joke!
Because IT WAS a joke, wasn’t it?
It was! No disrespect intended, I assure you. 🙂
@CastleBravo023 if that’s the case, as I said, as a joke it’s pretty funny! Actually I love it because it’s not your usual stereotypical joke, and it’s clever instead 😉 Sorry for the remark, I was just worried about somebody didn’t know what Lepanto was: you never know these days.
