Played it few days ago, was citadeled from every possible angle… guns are ok, but this range and that citadel… I still find it to be a garbo
Been playing tier 6 and 7 way more than I do tiers 9 and 10 lately. Way more fun, engaging battles down there.
Low tier is fun tier
Better economics too
Same same after tier 8 is just meh
@Witito90 Tier 8 is “meh” because is the tier where noobs and pros collide. And most premiuns and tech tree lines are there.
I do have London, I find the fat-ness – slow rudder and big turning circle incredibly frustrating and means I sort of prefer Devonshire, which is much more manoeuvrable has better range and just feels more usable, I also find London stops really badly; you basically have to be nearly stopped to not out-run the smoke, but then that is usually because I am always being up-tiered in T6 ships, so am having to play a lot more defensively; kiting, smoking up to hide/break detection, so maybe I just need to praise RNGebus harder!
I do like these ‘revisit’ videos, it does make me think “Hmm, maybe I should go back to London, give her a bit more of an effort”.
In the T6 Clan Battle we actually paired a Leander and a Perth, rather than Perth and London because they could smoke hop and Leander has an even stronger heal.
WG really needs to fix the UK ships failing to slow down and taking an eternity to engage reverse.
UK CL was my first T10 line, as people said it was good in T7, T8 ranked. I can’t count how many times I’ve died due to the slow down bug (I’m calling it a “bug” instead of a game design issue giving benefit of the doubt because only a truly stupid or retarded developer would think that not slowing down for an island cover dependent cruiser is a reasonable feature).
In T6 ranked a few seasons ago this was a very solid pick, T6 with a heal, nice.
Then you jump back to T5, play Exeter and realise how much better that thing is, even without smoke (which Exeter used to have and it was simply broken).
Exeter, IMO A citadel Machine.
Whenever I pull out London I have a few stage’s. First frustration on how little range she has, than I find a nice spot to defend and be surprised how well she can handle herself within that limited world she has within her reach. Depending on the match you can do great or be totally irrelevant, but it up to events that are not really in your control.
I have a 63% WR with the old girl so I agree she’s pretty fun. T6 with smoke and a heal makes her a threat. Add in the torps and hydro and she can also hold her own when uptiered.
Good guns, horribly short range makes it difficult to play well.
had it for 3 day trial and probably would get her for operations, how would you compare it between leander or mysore ? or t6 british tech line ?
when this ship is not low tier she is actually good, no radar and nothing to worry about, she has a 3 minutes hyro that is fantastic and with that she can rock except versus bb with those she dies
Not playing WoWs at the moment and haven’t played London in a while but think I was probably using HE too much, I do remember that the smoke spotting from the 8″ guns made using the smoke a bit tricky…
Think I would prefer the Perth. Creeping smoke is so fun. 8K torps. Both he and ap. Enjoy.
I have it, barely played it but it seemed fine. Devonshire is very good too, a cruiser killer with her AP. I prefer Leander overall.
It always pissed me of that London is a T6 premium rather than the T7 tech line ship. The ship they’ve put in at T7 is London in all but name anyway and I’d much rather have real ships in the tech tree than not.
I definitely forgot about this cruiser. Was going through my port recently and realized I own her. This is particularly interesting because I have no recollection of how or when I got her other than I know I didn’t purchase her.

I’ve heard about HMS London. Not in wows though on a few naval history channels.
