Sadly its still is since its very bad armor layout for our game meta makes its super easy to get chonked by any BB with 406 and larger caliber guns.

I’d be interested to hear your 5 favorite “rare” ships. By rare I mean like ships that were deemed too powerful at their time and were removed. Considering you have things like the Nikolai, the Caesar, and Smolensk, there have got to be a few favs somewhere in there.

I got the Flint as my first steel ship a couple of years ago. I just wish they would give her the same range as Atlanta. My bad, I should have read the fine print.

I tried the russians after hearing how good they are, but they feel so unbelievably booooring. Maybe its that they’re all fantasy paper ships, but I think they’re missing something that makes them special. Radar isn’t it, I got Des Moines & Co for that. Rather play Venezia for SAP shenanigans than anything russian.
for the french battlecruiser i found the prenium ( toulon) lacking, it is fast and very agile but turret beeing so slow to turn and on reload make it hard to be usefull

Honestly – I’m getting progressively more convinced that Battlecruisers should have their own separate ‘class’ so to speak. Having them rounded in the same park as normal cruisers is kind of bonkers.
I’ve been saying that for a while too. They need their own class with their own capt skills!
@Weaboo Trash Yet at the same time we have light and heavy cruisers mashed together, despite being vastly different.
And now we also have plenty of battlecruisers mixed in, that are far more similar to battleships, than to heavy or light cruisers.
Working my way up the Italian cruisers and I absolutely love these things. It feels like I’m getting revenge on all the DDs that ever wronged me xD 6k+ salvos on DDs from 15km is super satisfying.
I’m grinding that line too but hate them. I keep hoping the “next one” is better. The only reason I’m grinding the line is so I can learn how to play against them…. lol…. I hate SAP so I figured I need to learn to play with it so I can learn how to play against it.
@Stephan Makintaya T8 is okay and T9&10 is insane.
The Hindenburg is such an underrated ship. It’s my go to Rank farmer, ok it can’t really turn a battle around but my word it’s an annoying bugger to play against lol.

I would personally like to see a Top 5 best ships to build secondaries on, i just wanted to see if there were any other besides the usual culprits.
San Diego needs her standard reload speed moved from 5.5 seconds down to 3.5 seconds. The SAP nerf killed her. I frequently play her and she’s great but shes out classed by quite a few DD’s

I mostly agree with your list, except for the San Diego. I guess because I am not a fan of the Atlanta class ships. Instead of the San Diego, I would have included the Petropavlosk. It may have gotten nerfed, but it is still tank and its guns hit like a truck.
This might be odd to some, but I love Carnot, divved up with a Georgia it’s the fastest flanking group you’ll ever see
I can’t aim to save my life, so I like cruisers with fast reloads that allow me to adjust my aim after the 1st shot. The 5 cruisers I play most are Fiji, Atlanta, Mainz, Hindy, and Belfast. Also used to play Leander a lot in Operations when it was the same op for an entire week.
Thanks for the list for me to try. I have the Mainz, and while I like the quick guns, I would like it more if it had a heal. Right now, my favorite cruiser is Goliath, with Napoli as #2. I will definitely give some of these a try — thanks again.
