Fun fact: Salem is also a city in Oregon, specifically, the capital of Oregon. The US makes things even more interesting with other cities named Dirt, Hell, Paris, Chicken, Scratch Ankle, Little Canada, and Okay. I would absolutely kill for a ship named USS Dirt or USS Scratch Ankle.
