Yes, the submarines, as a class, were destroyed by the developers. And all you do is post a few fights where you just get lucky on very dumb opponents. If you think that everything is OK with submarines, then post a stream for 2-3 hours. In most battles, the submarine is bombarded with a hail of bombs and pressed with detection devices.
You really can’t fight solo anymore…true however you are still a menace in this boat. U190 comes to mind as well with a 12.5 ping and acoustic torps…well out of the range of counters…and I can still shotgun in my I56…all the sub drivers must do is add a step or use misdirection like what we have been seeing.
Simply put you stay near the group now. U4501 has IJN DD concealment, this boat in particular can and should be used passively at first… like a sub.
I only play submarine, Im thinking of starting a stream just purely submarine gameplay..

No pings, fire, then move out before the target is hit. Play on opposite side of enemy sub because his surveillance tells his team mates where you are.
Have to be fair, I think this was after 13.1 but not 13.2. It was a good play atleast upto 1/2 as that’s as far as I got before this comment. He was ahead of the ships including a destroyer and some good AA cover making it difficult for the asw planes to get to location to drop depth charges, the enemy were pretty good at avoiding torps with locks on and.no resets via dcp. Yes, I agree there were lucky shots that worked output the strategy is sound. I would of thought you would have submerged a little before that BB the crossed your path after looping around fe9m send out your 6 rear torps as they were almost 1/2 way to the target you were looking at so the the ping surface indicator would be hidden on the opposite side of the bb thus hidden from enemy seeing it. Missed opportunity.
I guess the issue is, youay.be.playing with a few friends on your side as the team on your flank seem to be supporting you this generally doesn’t happen in randoms because although your a sub on thier team, they generally leave you out to die, there is a serious issue with teams that do t see subs as another destroyer thus provide protection, it comes down to shup players holding such distaste for subs like lambs to a slaughter, hate them, don’t see why they are here and rarely if at all played them to understand them.
There are more.changes on the way to nerf subs even more BUT be careful what you wish for, if you think subs are being nerved because crybaby ship.players are whining, think again. They are using this to curry favor, but what is the end goal, they want subs to stay so why nerf them if thats the case, could it be that there will be changes to subs a little down the track where you can’t evade a dbl ping or a dbl.ping that you evade loops around from the other side. As I said, be careful what you wish for, they aren’t nerfing subs for nothing, there is a end goal
The 2nd last enemy ship doesn’t know how to asw as your were at periscope depth this visible when in asw mode and he missed you by miles although he would have been able to see you and your direction
Last enemy was pretty good, he knew you were under 3km away and headed for you ensuring 6 torp.hits only cause about 2000hp damage, his asw could have been better, it wasn’t you su much evade them it was he was used to how quick they get there now as they are now 2x as fast. It was close for sure. GG
