No, the Atago was the first Takao-class heavy cruisers. While you are right about them succeeding the Myokos, you are mistaken about their ages. The Atago was laid down and launched before her ‘elder’ sister. The same thing happened with the USS Texas, of the ‘New York’ class battleships. Happens a lot, actually.
Someday we’ll get a real Takao in game….
